The annual Steam Summer Sale usually brings significant discounts to a ton of top PC games. Steam never announces the Summer Sale dates ahead of time, instead choosing to drop the sale on us without warning. However, it’s not hard to assume that a “summer sale” would happen in the summer season, and as we’re now in June it’s time to start preparing for the tidal wave of sales coming our way on Steam.
When is Steam Summer Sale 2021?
The Steam Summer Sale 2021 is likely scheduled to begin on June 24 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET and continue until July 8. Steam sales regularly begin at 1 PM ET, and the first official day of summer is Sunday, June 20, so Steam kicking off its big summer sale in the first week of the season seems like a perfect fit. Last year’s Steam Summer Sale ran from June 25 to July 29, which makes these dates even more likely.

- End time: Thursday, July 8 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET
That timeframe was first reported back in April by Steam Database (@SteamDB) on Twitter, a notably dependable source of this kind of information, which reported that Valve had communicated those dates to its partners. For those who aren’t familiar, Steam Database is a non-affiliated account that tracks updates and news related to Valve’s Steam platform, and it has proven to be very accurate in its reporting. For example, the account correctly had the start of the 2021 Steam Lunar New Year Sale earlier this year.
However, despite the evidence this is still all unconfirmed rumor at this point, so please take this news with a grain of salt.
Valve sent out an email to partners announcing the @Steam Summer Sale 2021 dates, confidentially of course.
Since the partners already leaked it, the sale will run from June 24th until July 8th.
